5 Days Cultural Tour Package

  1. Day 1: Arrival and booking into a hotel in Sigiriya

    On day one, you will arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, where a representative from Lanka Safe Tours will welcome you. You will then travel to Sigiriya, stopping en route to visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient caves, murals, and Buddha statues. After the visit, you will continue to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

  2. Day 2: Sigiriya to Anurdhapura, Mihintale and back to Sigiriya

    On day two, you’ll travel to Anuradhapura, stopping first at Mihintale, the sacred site where Buddhism was introduced to Sri Lanka. You will then visit the Atamasthana, the eight sacred Buddhist sites including Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi and Ruwanwelisaya. After exploring the ancient UNESCO World Heritage city, you will return to Sigiriya for an overnight stay.

  3. Day 3: Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa and back to Sigiriya

    On day three, visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s second historic capital, and explore its remarkable archaeological sites including the Royal Palace of King Parakramabahu I and Shiva Devale No. 2. Later, enjoy a wildlife safari at Minneriya National Park, famous for large gatherings of wild elephants, before returning to Sigiriya for the night.

  4. Day 4: Sigiriya to Kandy through Matale

    On day four, climb the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the 180-meter-high “Lion Rock” built by King Kashyapa and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterward, visit a local spice garden, then continue to Nalanda Gedige and the colorful Matale Muthumariamman Temple before heading to Kandy for dinner and an overnight stay.

  5. Day 5: Kandy City Tour & Airport Drop

    On day five, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, a UNESCO-recognized site housing the Buddha’s revered tooth relic. Then explore the historic Embekke Devalaya, famous for its intricate wood carvings, followed by Lankatilaka Viharaya and Gadaladeniya Vihara, both remarkable temples from the Gampola era. After the visits, you’ll head to Bandaranaike International Airport, concluding your journey with Lanka Safe Tours.

  1. Day 1: Arrival and booking in to a hotel in Colombo

    You will arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport for your 12-day, 11-night cultural tour. A representative from Lanka Safe Tours will welcome you and transfer you to Colombo, where you will check in to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

  2. Day 2: Kelani and Gangarama Temples to Galle Fort

    On day two, travel from Colombo to Galle. After breakfast, visit Gangaramaya Temple by Beira Lake, then continue to Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, a sacred Buddhist temple with a long history. Later, enjoy a scenic boat ride on the Madu River, followed by a visit to the Sea Turtle Hatchery before heading to your hotel in Galle for the night.

  3. Day 3: Galle to Yala

    On day three, you will travel along the southern coast and visit Galle Fort, a historic fortress built by the Portuguese in 1588 and later renovated by the Dutch. Afterward, continue to Yala National Park, the country’s second-largest national park, for an exciting wildlife safari. In the evening, you will head to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

  4. Day 4: Yala to Ella

    On day four, travel to Ella and visit Ravana Falls, a beautiful waterfall linked to the legend of King Ravana and Princess Sita. Then explore the famous Nine Arch Bridge, also known as the “Bridge in the Sky.” Finally, hike Little Adam’s Peak, a scenic viewpoint surrounded by lush tea plantations, before heading to your hotel in Ella for the night.

  5. Day 5: Ella to Nuwara Eliya

    On day five, enjoy the scenic train journey from Ella to Nuwara Eliya, passing lush tea plantations, mountains, valleys, and forests—a true glimpse of Sri Lankan life and culture. After arrival, visit Lake Gregory for boating, horseback rides, or leisurely strolls. Explore the historic Nuwara Eliya Post Office with its Tudor-style architecture, then visit the Sita Amman Temple, a Hindu temple linked to the Ramayana. End the day at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

  6. Day 6: Nuwara Eliya to Ramboda and Kandy

    On day six, travel from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy, stopping at Ramboda Falls, the Damro Labookellie Tea Centre for a tea tour and tasting, and the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, before returning to your Kandy hotel.

  7. Day 7: Kandy City Tour

    On day seven, explore Kandy, visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic, Bahirawakanda Temple, the Kandy viewpoint, and a nearby local market, before returning to your hotel in the late afternoon.

  8. Day 8: Kandy to Sigiriya through Matale

    On day eight, travel to Sigiriya with stops at Muthumariamman Temple in Matale, the Matale Spice Garden, and the Rangiri Dambulla (Golden) Cave Temple. Finish the day by visiting Sigiriya Rock, then head to your hotel for the night.

  9. Day 9: Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa and Back

    On day nine, visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, exploring its royal palace, temples, and ruins. Then, go on a safari at Minneriya National Park to see wild elephants and other wildlife. On the way back, stop at Hiriwadunna Village for a glimpse of traditional village life and a local meal, then return to your hotel.

  10. Day 10: Sigiriya to Anuradhapura

    On day ten, explore the ancient city of Anuradhapura, visiting the Atamasthana (8 sacred sites), ancient ruins, temples, stupas, and lakes. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the tour, return to your hotel in Anuradhapura.

  11. Day 11: Anuradhapura City and Mihintale

    On day eleven, you’ll visit Mihintale, the historic hill where Buddhism was formally introduced to Sri Lanka, and explore its ancient monasteries and stupas. Next, you’ll tour the Atamasthana (“Eight Sacred Places”) in Anuradhapura, including Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya, Ruwanwelisaya, Thuparamaya, Lovamahapaya, Abhayagiri Dagaba, Jetavanaramaya, Mirisaveti Stupa, and Lankarama. These sites showcase Sri Lanka’s rich Buddhist heritage and architectural marvels. After the visits, you’ll return to your hotel for the night.

  12. Day 12: Anuradhapura to Colombo AirPort

    On the 12th and last day of your incredible trip, your always kind and polite driver will take you back to the airport safely, bringing an excellent tour of this beautiful island to a conclusion.
